Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Images are decoded and compressed locally in your browser. QuickFileKit does not receive the source or generated files.

Why can a compressed file be larger?

Already optimized images or format changes can produce a larger result. QuickFileKit shows the real size and lets you keep the original.

Does compression reduce image dimensions?

No. This tool keeps the pixel dimensions and changes encoding quality. A future resize tool will handle dimensions separately.
